Video: Rugby player tries to strangle opponent during scuffle

An ugly incident took place in a recent Australian Football League match when Hawthorn's Brian Lake attempted to strangle North Melbourne's Drew Petrie.

As shown in the video above, tempers flared when the two began scuffling on the ground during play. This is when Lake resorted to putting his hands around Petrie's throat. If Petrie's teammates hadn't rushed to his aid, it's possible that the incident could have been much worse.

The AFL is currently reviewing the matter to see what discipline to take. In the meantime, Lake has been charged with misconduct and judging by the video, rightfully so.
