San Diego Padres draft Johnny Manziel in 28th round

Although Johnny Manziel's future appears to be in professional football, the San Diego Padres are hoping Manziel might eventually lean toward baseball.

Why? Well, because the Friars selected the new Cleveland Browns quarterback in the 28th round (837th overall) of the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft on Saturday.

On a related note, Manziel threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a game for the Padres in 2013. So perhaps the team was so impressed in his delivery that they thought he warranted a draft pick.
