This blunder isn't likely to help Carlos Marmol find a job in the big leagues again. You know, because it might help the volatile right-hander if he's actually able to suit up and take the field.
According to the organizations assistant director of media relations, Marmol has been placed on the restricted list due to leaving the club without permission. Marmol was most recently assigned to Triple-A Louisville where the enigmatic reliever allowed three runs and six walks in 3.2 innings of work. Before Louisville, Marmol spent time in Miami before the Marlins released him last month.
The stigma surrounding Marmol's career is hard not to notice. The Dominican has always struggled terribly with throwing the ball over the plate. But there have also been reports to suggest Marmol might struggle just as much at times in the clubhouse and off the field.
For a guy whose professional career could be nearing the end, Marmol sure isn't doing himself any favors by walking out on his current squad.
