Michael Bennett forced to pay $10k in puppy abandonment case

Michael Bennett's beef with a dog boarding facility is now over after the defensive lineman agreed to pay five figures to settle some debt for abandoning his puppy last year.

According to TMZ Sports, the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer ditched his 4-month-old boxer puppy named Koa at the Lucky Dog Boarding Facility when he signed with the Seattle Seahawks. And then failed to return despite repeated attempts by the facility to get ahold of Bennett.

Not only did Bennett ignore picking Koa up, but he also refused to pay the bill. After months of trying to chase Bennett down, the facility finally received a check from Bennett for $10,000, thus putting an end to the madness.

As for Koa, the dog now has a new home and a new name. The new owners are calling him Quigley.
