Video: Penn State turns two triple plays in one game

The Penn State baseball team managed to do something extremely rare not once but twice in the first game of a doubleheader against Michigan State on Friday.

This is because the Nittany Lions turned two triple plays! The first came in the fourth inning and the second came in the eighth frame. Both triple plays were turned in similar fashion as a sharp line drive left runners on first and second hanging out to dry.

According to the Associated Press, it marks only the second time in NCAA Division I history that a team turned two triple plays in a single game. The only other team to do it was Gonzaga against Washington State in 2006.
