The 22-year-old son of NBA legend Larry Bird has plead guilty to criminal recklessness stemming from an incident that occurred in 2013. Why? According to court documents, Connor Bird allegedly tried to run over his girlfriend with his car.
The incident occurred last February on the campus of Indiana University where Bird allegedly threw his cell phone at his girlfriend and then immediately tried to mow her down in a parking lot.
Bird was originally arrested and slapped with several charges, including battery and possession of marijuana, however those two charges have been dropped after he agreed to plead guilty to criminal recklessness.
Bird must now participate in a sober-living program and stay out of trouble for one year as part of his plea deal with authorities. If Bird breaks the agreement, he could be facing serious time behind bars.
