Donald Trump says Donald Sterling was 'set up' by girlfriend

On Monday, Donald Trump made an appearance on Fox and Friends to give his thoughts on the controversy swirling around racist comments made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling.

You can hear the audio of Trump's remarks in the video above. However, if you want the short version, Trump essentially called Sterling's views "despicable" and predicts that Sterling will be "expelled" from the NBA.

Trump also gave his opinion on the woman who sparked this whole mess.

“He got set up by a very, very bad girlfriend, let’s face it. She’s called ‘the girlfriend from hell.’ What he said was terrible and despicable and a very strong action is going to be taken.”

When asked whether he believed Sterling could fight the allegations because he was having a private conversation, Trump responded by saying, “I don’t know what you do, it’s so bad. She was baiting him and she’s a terrible human being and he gave horrible answers and disgusting answers.”

There's no denying the situation is ugly. Sterling's comments were absolutely terrible and rightfully received public backlash, but it also seems pretty clear that the ex-girlfriend has/had it out for him. Whether she set him up, as Trump suggested, is another story though.
