Time Warner Cable says sorry to customers over Super Bowl blackout with stingy gift cards

time warner

Here's another reason for us to hate cable companies in this country.

Last month, select Time Warner Cable customers in Southern California experienced a blackout for a little over an hour during the Super Bowl. Just imagine the horror those poor souls felt as they helplessly wandered how the game was going while being blacked out.

Now, the cable company is hoping to make amends for their mistake by providing those customers with a Target gift card...for $5. FIVE MEASLY BUCKS.

Try not to spend that all on one thing, guys. Sheesh.

As Ryan Glasspiegel of The Big Lead notes, doing nothing probably would have worked out better from a public relations standpoint for TWC.
