Minor league manager makes bold guarantee to fans

Phil Nevin, manager of the Triple-A Reno Aces, has made a bold bet with fans.

The former MLB slugger is guaranteeing the temperature will be 60 degrees or above on Opening Day (April 3) when his Aces host the El Paso Chihuahuas. If the temperature falls below 60 degrees, Nevin has promised to buy all fans in attendance a ticket to a future game.

"I'm really looking forward to heading back to Reno, and I hope the fans are looking forward to seeing us again," Nevin said. "If the weather isn't great, I'll make sure everyone gets their money's worth."

Pretty bold move by Nevin considering the average high temperature for Reno is only 64 in April. Well, at least according to this chart of historical monthly averages from The Weather Channel.
