Jerry Sandusky's wife maintains husband's innocence, says victims were 'manipulated'

On Wednesday, the wife of Jerry Sandusky appeared on NBC's Today Show to maintain that she believes her husband is innocent of any wrongdoing.

Dottie Sandusky also divulged a profound statement by claiming she thinks the victims were manipulated by devious lawyers who were motivated by financial gain. Furthermore, Mrs. Sandusky maintains that every one of the 45 counts of sexual abuse her husband was convicted of in 2012 is unjustified.

"Do I believe him? I definitely believe him," she said. "Because if I didn't believe him, when I testified at trial, I could have not said what I said. I would have had to tell the truth."

As you can see, Mrs. Sandusky was also accompanied in the interview by filmmaker John Ziegler, who is also a strong believer in Jerry Sandusky's innoence. Ziegler claims he's spent the last two years pouring over details of the case and says the allegations don't quite add up.

It's not out of the realm of possibility to think a handful of those sexual abuse cases might have been fabricated by "victims" looking to join in on the lawsuit. However, even that seems like quite a stretch considering the massive amount of evidence and testimony stacked against Sandusky during trial.

Mrs. Sandusky either comes across as extremely delusional or a masterful liar...or both. It has to be hard to admit that your spouse is guilty of such horrific crimes, but as they saying goes, if the shoe fits, wear it.

What do you think? Does Mrs. Sandusky have any credibility at all in her assertions? Or did the media and lawyers simply have their way in shaping the outcome of this case?
