Say what you want about Richard Sherman, but it's not hard to see where his work ethic comes from, which comes courtesy of his blue collar father.
According to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times, Sherman's dad has been driving a garbage truck for nearly three decades, and refuses to allow his NFL-playing son to financially support him.
Papa Sherman's job requires him to wake up at 3:45 a.m., even on sacred holidays, to earn that coveted overtime pay. In 2012, he reportedly left the family Christmas party early so that he could be ready to go for work the next day. He says his main goal for working hard was to help his son get a quality education.
Consider the mission a success as Sherman graduated from Stanford and is now making over $600,000 (excluding endorsements) playing football.
