Michael Sam responds to lobbyist who wants to ban gays from NFL

On Monday, a Washington lobbyist announced he was planning legislation to ban gay players from playing in the NFL. That lobbyist is Jack Burkman.

”We are losing our decency as a nation,” Burkman said in a statement, via The Hill. "Imagine your son being forced to shower with a gay man. That's a horrifying prospect for every mom in the country. What in the world has this nation come to?”

“If the NFL has no morals and no values, then Congress must find values for it,” Burkman said.

The proposed ban is undoubtedly in response to Michael Sam's recent revelation that he was gay. However, the former Missouri standout had a response for Burkman's statements, which he delivered via Twitter on Tuesday.

In case you didn't catch it, Sam's tweet featured a Back to the Future reference in there, suggesting that Burkman's ideals are no longer held by the majority of society.

  1. Yes those views are held by the majority of society, hence gay marriage being voted against in most states.
And if the argument is that gay people have always existed, so therefore there have always been gays in the NFL, then theoretically you could not go to any time period and not find a homosexual in the NFL.

    1. You are an idiot dude. You don't know what the majority of society thinks, have you asked them? You can say gay marriage isn't legal in most states sure, but it went from being not legal in EVERY state and now it's legal in 8 or 9, so you could argue (accurately) that it's on it's way to being legal in a helluva lot more...homosexuality is inborn and has always existed in every single walk of life surely, sports included. His reference to a delorean was an accurate one. You sound as bad as the Congressman.
