Florida State Seminoles recruiting an eighth grader
Within the next few weeks, Rashad Williams of Charlotte, N.C. will make a visit to the Florida State Seminoles campus. He will go there as a highly touted football prospect.
The difference between Williams and a normal recruit is the fact that Williams still isn't even in high school yet. In fact, he's 13-years-old and in eighth grade.
“It is unbelievable,” Williams told 247Sports early Wednesday afternoon. “I didn’t expect to get recruited at this age. I thought maybe it happen by my junior or senior year.”
Williams is currently 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds. He rushed for 17 touchdowns in 10 games last fall. And many expect him to increase his size and production as he matures, obviously.
Regardless, his father can't even believe his son is drawing such interest at a young age.
“Its very shocking and surprising to me,” Hilton said. “I never thought colleges would show interest in my son already when he was in middle school. It's very shocking. They think my son is real good.”
Keep the name "Rashad Williams" in the back of your mind, folks. We may just see him become a college football star in 2020.
