Video: Improbable 80-foot buzzer beater sends prep game into overtime

An improbable 80-foot buzzer-beating shot by Long Beach State commit Temidayo Yussef sent a game between St. Joseph Notre Dame (CA) and El Cerrito (CA) into overtime on Friday.

With El Cerrito leading 61-58 with just 0.6 seconds to play, Jalen Walton had a chance to put the game out of reach on the free throw line. But it appeared his squad was on the path to victory regardless of whether he made the free throw or not.

"Even if he misses and they get the rebound, there's no chance to get a shot off in time," El Cerrito coach Michael Booker told Max Preps.

Wrong.

After missing the charity throw, Yussef grabbed the rebound and quickly flung the ball across the full length of the court, and into the other basket. Thus, sending the crowd into a frenzy, and more importantly, the game into overtime.

Unfortunately for St. Joseph Notre Dame, El Cerrito snatched back momentum and went on to win, 71-64. But it doesn't take away from the fact that Yussef's heave was amazing.
