Some NFL players work their entire careers toward obtaining a Super Bowl ring. Few actually reach that goal. Some never earn one at all.
However, running back Damien Berry did with the Baltimore Ravens last season, but he is already willing to sell his within months of receiving it.
Yes, Berry has decided to put his Super Bowl XLVII ring up for auction. The ring is 3.75 carats with 243 round cut diamonds. Naturally, the gem should draw a pretty penny.
“This is a rare opportunity for a fan or a collector to own a Super Bowl ring less than a year after it was earned and one from a landmark NFL game,” Goldin Auctions founder Ken Goldin told the Ravens’ website.
Berry's role in Baltimore's championship run was very limited. He spent the entire 2012 season on injured reserve after spending the whole 2011 campaign on the practice squad.
Nonetheless, he earned a ring and is now cashing in.
