Last week, the New Orleans Saints notched a huge victory on the road in Philadelphia to keep their season alive. And much of the credit for their success was given to Popeyes Chicken. Well, actually the eatery took all of the credit themselves via Twitter.
Anyways, Popeyes Chicken is at it again this week after the company reportedly supplied the entire Saints squad with free food to hold the guys over during their flight from New Orleans to Seattle.
The Saints apparently have an affinity for Popeyes and recent history shows that they are nearly unstoppable when consuming meals from there before playing games away from home. So, in an effort to capitalize on this marketing opportunity, the President of Popeyes Chicken told TMZ Sports that the company would help the Saints' cause by donating 375 pieces of chicken. Specifically, 125 three-piece meals which include mashed potatoes and cajun gravy, red beans and rice, and biscuits.
"As a direct result [of Popeyes chicken], they won their first playoff road game," the said. "They have a 100% win rate in the playoffs when they eat Popeyes."
Asked about any critics who question the health of eating fried chicken immediately before a football game, "It's definitely not what you'd think, but it's what they want. And you can't argue with success," he said.
So, there you have it, folks. Popeyes Chicken and the New Orleans Saints. They appear to be a recipe for success!
