Paralyzed teenager will use robotics to kick off World Cup

The 2014 World Cup is quickly approaching and kicking off the global event this time around will be a Brazilian paralyzed teenager.

The teenager, who has not been chosen yet, will literally kick out the first ball of the tournament by using a robotic exoskeleton, controlled by capturing brain impulses and then transmitting those said impulses into movement.

The robotic body suit was developed by the Walk Again Project and is fitted over the body to capture the brain waves through electrodes attached to the scalp.

Is your mind blown yet?

Yes, it appears the future is here.
