John Daly mistakenly thought he won a car due to sinking hole-in-one

On Monday, John Daly sank an ace on the par-3 No. 7 at the Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West while playing in the Humana Challenge pro-am, which he originally thought won him a car.

Apparently, a hole-in-one was supposed to earn him a new Hyundai.

"I didn't even look at the shot," Daly told the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I leaned over to get my tee and was telling the Callaway representative that it felt pretty good. He said, 'Good, because it just went in the hole.'"

Daly also added he could put the car to good use because he has three kids.

Unfortunately, his ace didn't count because it came after he hit a second ball.

Wait, what? That's just wrong.

If Hyundai is smart, they will give the colorful Daly a new ride anyway. This could either be good publicity or it could be not so good, depending on how the situation plays out.
