Greg Hardy is in line to receive a nice pay increase after tying the franchise record with 15 sacks last season for the Panthers.
However, Carolina isn't in a financial position to just throw money around freely, thanks in large part to salary cap issues. Nonetheless, "The Kraken" remains confident a new deal will get worked out.
"It's a football game. It's a game, so you really can't put too much stock in stressing about something like that," he told Around The League at Radio Row. "I'm in the best position of my life regardless of what happens, so I definitely believe in letting my agent and my manager and my people handle that and I can focus on football and entertaining you guys."
Hardy's best line, though, came when he was asked what he thought the Panthers need to do in order to get to the Super Bowl in 2015.
"Give me a phone call and offer me a crapload of money," he said with a grin. "That's all. Nothing too serious."
I think we can all agree that this scenario would be nice to be in.
