But could the Purdue product also have been successful as a professional tennis player? If this revelation by tennis icon Andy Roddick is to be believed as true, then the answer might be yes.
According to Roddick, Brees defeated him not once, but twice in tennis when they were youngsters. However, eventually Roddick turned the tables and that was enough for Brees to put down the tennis racket in favor of a pigskin.
Saints fans and football fans everywhere are eternally grateful to Roddick for that.
