Smoke postpones Spurs-Timberwolves game in Mexico City

The regular season game between the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves has been postponed due to smoky conditions inside the Mexico City arena.

The venue was evacuated shortly before the start of the game when a generator malfunction outside the arena sent smoke pouring into the building. This caused the lights to go out in certain parts of the arena as smoke made its way in through the vents in the upper deck. The NBA reiterated news of the delay via its Twitter account Wednesday night.

Players were forced to board team buses parked outside the arena while fans and media were also forced to leave the premises.

It is not known when the game will be made up.
