Report: Mike Tomlin's sideline shuffle could cost Steelers draft pick
The sideline shenanigan Mike Tomlin pulled during last Thursday's rivalry game against the Baltimore Ravens may wind up severely costing the Steelers.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, both Pittsburgh and the Steelers are primed to receive "stiff" punishment, which may include reliquishing a draft pick.
This wouldn't be the first time a team was forced to surrender a draft pick as punishment. In 2007, the Patriots had to forfeit a first round pick because of Spygate. A few years later, the Saints were docked two second round picks for their role in Bountygate.
Although the outcome of the game wasn't affected by Tomlin's act, it very well could have, and the NFL will probably aim to deter any similar behavior from happening again elsewhere.
