Vegas oddsmaker has dramatically lowered Philadelphia 76ers chance of winning title

The oddsmakers in Vegas have completely changed their outlook for the Philadelphia 76ers this season.

After initially calculating the odds of Philadelphia winning a championship at an astronomical 9,999 to 1, which essentially pegged them as the worst team in NBA history, the experts at LVH Race and Sports Books have drastically lowered their odds to a modest 100 to 1. The 76ers now sit firmly between the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks in the odds. Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns are now considered the worst team in the league, at adds of 500 to 1.

The decision by LVH Race and Sports Books probably had something to do with the fact that the 76ers came out and shocked everyone last week by scoring victories over the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls in their first two games.

A Vegas source told TMZ that the original 9,999 to 1 odds on Philly was "foolish" and offered no benefit to LVH. For example, a simply $10 bet would have netted a gambler $99,990 if the 76ers somehow managed to win the title. Of course, that possibility is still very much a longshot.

For what it's worth, the Sixers looked more like the team LVH thought they would on Monday, as the lost to the Golden State Warriors 110-90.
