Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder rips city of Sacramento for blocking Kings move to Seattle

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is still fuming at the city of Sacramento for the NBA's decision to block a potential move of the Kings franchise to Seattle.

Ironically, Vedder expressed his displeasure at a recent concert in the same city where his beloved SuperSonices transplanted in 2008.

A fan’s video shows Vedder saying that “the people that really (expletive) us over is Sacramento,” before adding, “When you think about it, and if you’ve ever been to Sacramento, they’re already kind of (expletive).”

For context purposes, Vedder's comments stem from a previous tirade he unleashed in Charlotte, N.C., where he made "similarly complimentary statements" about Oklahoma City.

Vedder explained that outburst to Thunder fans in OKC by saying:

“See, here’s the deal,” Vedder said. “It’s nothing to do with Oklahoma or Oklahoma City or Tulsa or this state or the people or the locals or people in this building. It’s simply what it’d be like if your girlfriend, who you were with in a long-time relationship … well, you wouldn’t like her new husband. If it was Fresno, I’d be p-----d off at Fresno.”

Fortunately, Vedder won't have to step foot in Sacramento anytime soon, as Pearl Jam does not currently have any shows there on its schedule.

  1. Eddie i loved the music when it came out years ago, but you not gone the road of hero sadly. Comments like this leave a bad taste in people who once supported you and many of your causes. As if when Seattle Super Sonics were leaving your state and locals didn't do anything to attempt to stop the move, so why should another city fighting that battle be any different and be pissed on as you have done for being devoted to a team that is their identity? This shows a huge double standard by yourself and i for one will no longer support your efforts or music till the people of Sacramento get a heart felt apology. Seriously disappointed in a one time hero and fan.
