The fan who caught Shane Victorino's epic grand slam in Game 6 of the ALCS is not letting the ball out of his sight.
According to WCVB, Nick Wood has been sleeping with the historic ball, and has no plans to give it up anytime soon, either.
"I woke up this morning and I had my hand under the pillow, and I'm holding onto the ball," Wood said.
Wood did admit that he would be willing to part ways with the piece of history for the right price or perhaps the right tickets.
"I want the same seats for every game," Wood said. "I'm just excited we're in the World Series. Whatever happens, happens, I guess. If they want to talk about it we'll talk about it, I guess."
So, there you have it. The Red Sox will have to get out the checkbook if they want the ball back. Or they will have to pry it away from Wood's cold hands in the middle of the night.
