Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is tearing it up on both the football field and in the pizza business right now.
Aside from flicking touchdown passes left and right, Manning's 21 Papa John's franchises, which he bought last year, are raking in some serious dough, no pun intended.
Since Manning took the helm, each individual store has seen reported sales rise from $3,000-$4,000 on any given day to roughly $5,000-$6,000 a day, which equals about 60 pizza pies an hour, folks. One location even reported a 25% increase in total sales since last year and credited it to the "Peyton Factor."
The fact that Manning and the Broncos are winning doesn't hurt, either. Customers can receive 50% off a day after a Broncos victory, and because they are undefeated, there have been quite a few promotional opportunities this season.
In comparison, neighboring Papa Johns locations in the Denver area not owned by Manning reported no significant improvement in sales.
