A judge has found Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones not guilty of an assault charge stemming from an incident outside a local nightclub in June.
Jones was accused of punching a woman in the head, arrested, and then later released on his own recognizance.
The prosecutor claimed Jones had insulted the woman, calling her fat and ugly, before striking her in the head, and sending her tumbling to the ground.
The defense argued that Jones was the victim and that the woman allegedly sparked the incident by throwing beer on the veteran NFL player.
Jones faced a possible sentence of up to six months in jail if convicted.
Jones isn't in the clear just yet, though. He still could be punished by the National Football League under its conduct policy. However, that doesn't seem likely at this point given Tuesday's verdict.
