Minnesota Vikings All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson wasn't at practice on Thursday, citing personal reasons, but he was spotted eating a hot turkey sandwich in South Dakota.
A report out of Sioux Falls by the Argus Leader said Peterson spent part of his afternoon dining and eating lunch at the Little Coalinga Bar & Grill.
Restaurant owner Jane Bammert described Peterson as a "super nice guy" and complimented the way he treated her staff. She also said that Peterson happily posed for pictures after downing one and a half sandwiches.
Nobody asked Peterson the obvious question, though. Namely, what the superstar player was doing in the middle of Sioux Falls.
“He didn’t offer, and I didn’t ask,” Bammert said.
Fantasy owners and Vikings fans shouldn't worry. Peterson is expected to return to practice on Friday in preparation for Minnesota's upcoming game against the Carolina Panthers.
Peterson has racked up 421 yards and a league-leading five touchdowns in 2013.
