Raiders move kickoff to near midnight to accommodate Athletics playoff game

Coffee might be at a premium for workers at the O.co Coliseum this weekend.

The Raiders announced on Monday that kickoff for Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers will be at 11:35 p.m. ET instead of the originally scheduled 4:25 p.m. start time.

The reason for the switch is due directly to the Oakland Athletics playing Game 2 of their American League Division Series on Saturday night. Apparently, it takes too long to convert the stadium from baseball to football in time to play an afternoon game on Sunday.

For the record, the Raiders are the only NFL team that are currently forced to share a stadium with a Major League Baseball team.
