Maurice Clarett asks the Browns to give him a shot at running back

The departure of running back Trent Richardson via trade to the Indianapolis Colts has left a vacancy with the Cleveland Browns.

And former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett wasted no time at all in offering his services to help fill the void left behind by Richardson.

Clarett took to Twitter on Wednesday to ask the team for a tryout.

Interestingly, the tweets have already been deleted by Clarett. Perhaps after he learned the team signed (pending physical) veteran running back Willis McGahee, instead.

After helping lead Ohio State to a national championship in 2005, Clarett was drafted in the third round by the Denver Broncos in the NFL Draft. However, he has never played in a regular season game with any team.
