Maryland man buys foreclosed storage locker and hits jackpot with Dikembe Mutombo memorabilia

A Maryland resident hit the jackpot when he discovered that the foreclosed storage locker he purchased for $300 contained an overwhelming amount of Dikembe Mutombo memorabilia.

The winning bidder, Adrian Petrus, beat out several others for the contents of the unit in a real life scene reminsicent to the ones shot on "Storage Wars."

Once he opened the locker, he found that the unit was jam packed with multiple Mutombo items, including signed basketballs, shoes, jerseys, trading cards, and photos of the former NBA star with celebrities such as Michael Jackson and Nelson Mandela.

So, it begs the question, who was the previous owner of all this stuff? It turns out that the items formerly belonged to one of Mutombo's brothers.

The locker went up for auction after Mutombo's brother missed several rental payments while he had gone back home to the Congo to deal with family issues in the wake of his father's death.

Petrus initially tried to reach out to Mutombo and offer a deal to return the items. However, he has yet to hear back, and is reportedly considering putting the items up for auction on eBay.
