New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has made it completely clear where he stands regarding quarterback Tim Tebow's chances of making the final roster.
On Tuesday, Kraft told reporters that he is a big fan of Tebow, and that he would love to see the former Heisman winner latch onto a roster spot with the Patriots this season.
“I’m rooting for him big-time. He’s been real joy to have around. I see why he has such a strong national following,” Kraft said, via Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com.
Kraft won't have the final input as to whether or not Tebow suits up for New England beyond this preseason, though. That decision will fall on the capable shoulders of head coach Bill Belichick. Kraft said he will support Belichick's decision regardless.
“He [Belichick] has a pretty good record doing it,” Kraft said.
If Belichick decides to go with three quarterbacks on this year's 53-man roster, than Tebow as an excellent shot of making the team behind Tom Brady and second string signal caller Ryan Mallett. However, if Belichick opts to go with just two, it may mean Tebow will be looking for employment elsewhere.
