Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp may not be having the best of seasons on the field, but his off the field gestures have been second to none in 2013.
Kemp's latest act of kindness involved buying every teammate on the active roster a pair of Beats by Dre headphones. The musical accessory was waiting for his Dodgers teammates at their lockers during LA's last series before the All-Star Break.
These aren't just ordinary headphones, though. The white Mixr headphones from the Beats line retail at $249.95 a pair. Multiply that by 25 players and Kemp supposedly shelled out $6,250 on the gift.
In fairness, six grand isn't exactly earth-shattering money considering Kemp makes around $20 million per season. However, it's still an outstanding gesture and something that should be applauded.
Earlier in the season, we saw Kemp give nearly his entire uniform to a sick Dodgers fan, then fly the fan to a Dodgers game. He also donated $250,000 to the tornado relief fund in his home state of Oklahoma after twisters ravaged the area back in May.
Matt Kemp: a really good player and an even better person.
