Former NBA forward Charles Barkley never fails to deliver.
On Thursday, speaking with Maria Bartiromo on CNBC's The Closing Bell about social media, Barkley began the conversation by revealing why he didn't use Twitter.
“I will never tweet,” he said. “Because, the thing about being in the limelight, you’re like the homecoming queen. All the other girls hate you.”
Valid point. But Barkley wasn't done there.
“Dumb people don’t like smart people, poor people don’t like rich people, ugly people don’t like good-looking people…”
As strange as it may sound, Barkley is spot on with his assessment. People don't generally look favorably upon others who are in a better position than they are.
Barkley also offered another reason for not being on Twitter, though, and it involved money.
”I want to get paid to be opinionated," he quipped.
