Video: Mikhail Youzhny obliterates tennis racket in anger
Russian tennis player Mikhail Youzhny was none to pleased about his fourth round match against Tommy Haas in the French Open.
Youzhny played relatively poorly Monday and wound up losing in straight sets to the 35-year-old Haas. Thus, the No. 29 seeded Youzhny was eliminated from the tournament.
However, his frustrations became clearly apparent well before the conclusion of the match. After getting down 3-0 in the second set, Youzhny decided to take out his anger on a helpess chair, and used his racket in order to do so.
All in all, the 30-year-old smashed his racket nine times into the chair, causing his piece of equipment to splinter. Youzhny then tossed his racket aside on the ground only to have a ball boy quickly come casually pick it up as if nothing had ever happened.
This outburst from Youzhny shouldn't be too surprising, though. In 2008, he actually smashed his racket against his own head after losing a point, drawing both blood and gasps from the onlooking crowd.
