Video: Lighting temporarily knocks out lights at White Sox game

A lightning strike was to blame for Tuesday's temporary delay in the Mets-White Sox game at U.S. Cellular Field.

It occurred in the top of the first inning and knocked out several light bulbs high above the home plate area, thus causing the umpires to get together and talk about whether the game could go on without a long-term delay.

They eventually ruled that the visibility was still good enough to play and the lights wound up coming back to full strength later on in the game.

The Sox outlasted the Mets, 5-4, on a walk-off single by Alexei Ramirez.
