Video: Husband bails on wife to avoid flying bat at Angels game

Chivalry is dead in this country.

How else can you explain the way this guy bailed on his wife to avoid being clocked by an errant bat during Monday's Astros-Angels game?

The moment came in the top of the second inning when Astros hitter J.D. Martinez lost the handle on his bat on a swing. The piece of lumber went flying into the stands off to the third base side.

It was then when this guy jumped out of his seat to leave his poor wife to fend for herself. Watch as the bat narrowly misses striking her in the head. Whoa. Close call.

She seemed to be taking the whole ordeal like a good sport, but I'm sure the guy paid for it somehow once they got home. And deservedly so.
