The Kansas City Royals are quickly developing a reputation for having the finest culinary skills in Major League Baseball.
Their recent affinity for a "rally BBQ sauce" has led them to win eight of their last nine games which currently makes them the hottest team in baseball (no pun intended).
On Thursday, another food item was spotted in the Royals dugout as starting pitcher Ervin Santana was seen chowing down on a banana before he took the mound for the seventh inning.
The extra boost in potassium must have done Santana well as he earned the victory in the game after hurling 7.2 innings of one-run baseball en route to a 10-1 Kansas City triumph.
Obviously, the incorporation of fruit and sauce has done the Royals well lately.
