Video: Cal State Fullerton player takes pitch directly to man parts

A seventh inning hitting appearance by Cal State Fullerton's Austin Kingsolver turned into a painful one over the weekend.

Kingsolver had worked the count full before Arizona State pitcher Jose McAlister let a slider get away from him and sent the pitch whizzing into Kingsolver's man region. Listen closely and you can ever the sound of impact. Ouch is an understatement.

Luckily, Kingsolver was able to walk it out and take his free base. But that doesn't mean there aren't any lingering effects right now.

The good news for Kingsolver and Fullerton is that they wound up upending Arizona State for the right to advance to Super Regional play. They will host the UCLA Bruins for a best of three series beginning Friday. The winner advances to the College World Series in Omaha.
