Robber shot dead as customers wait in line for new LeBron James shoe

text

The wait for LeBron James' new shoe, the LeBron X EXT, turned deadly in Atlanta early Saturday morning when a man was shot and killed after he allegedly tried to rob customers who were standing in line.

The potential robber was gunned down when another man in line whipped out a gun to defend everyone else. The shooting was considered to be in self-defense and no one has been charged with the death.

Furthermore, the shooter immediately got back into line after the incident.

The shooting occurred before 5:30 a.m. and over six hours before the retail store opened. By 11:30, the line was about 50 people deep as people anxiously awaited their chance to buy a pair of sneakers, unfazed by the shooting that had happened hours earlier.

“He really stood up for all of us,” a bystander said of the shooter.

For fans, one intriguing aspect of the shoe is that it incorporates both denim and leather. James wore various versions of this shoe throughout the season, including a purple-and-pink version at the All-Star Game in Houston.
