Fans of the Memphis Tigers have spoken.
Continuing on with the theme of having college basketball fans voicing an opinion this offseason, the Tigers have unveiled a photo of what their new court will look like at the FedEx Forum next season.
As you can see, the new design definitely has no shortage of things to look at. The busy template features a giant school logo in the middle of the court, two American Athletic Conference logos at opposite corners, and the most noteworthy feature being the illustration of a bridge with the Memphis skyline in the background.
The bridge depicts the famous Memphis-Arkansas bridge that connect Tennessee to Arkansas.
Fans chose this design for their hardwood over three other options. None of those other options were as busy-looking as this one, though. Nonetheless, it is still neat to see the program connect the community with the team.
“Tiger Nation has spoken,” Memphis AD Tom Bowen said. “We thought that the voting process would be a great chance for our fans to offer their opinions as stakeholders in the Tigers' basketball program, and they responded in massive numbers. It confirms the passion that Memphis fans have for their athletic programs at the University.”
Memphis joins the likes of Central Florida, California, Old Dominion, Buffalo, Florida International, and George Washington as schools who have let fans pick new court themes this offseason.
