Photo: Barbie releases Texas A&M 'Yell Leader' doll

The 2013 University Barbie Collection is now available for sale across the country and one of the dolls features Ken in the likeness of a Texas A&M Yell Leader.

What does a Yell Leader actually do? Well, here is the description provided on the Barbie Collector website:

"Rally round, Aggies! Ken® doll joins the Texas A&M cheer squad in a white jumpsuit and red athletic shoes with articulated arms ready to basket toss or build a pyramid. 'We're gonna beat you all to Chigaroogarem, rough, tough, real stuff, Texas A&M!'"

So, there you go. The Yell Leader tradition at Texas A&M dates all the way back to 1907 and never before has a female been elected.

There are also three other schools represented in the collection series which includes the University of Kentucky, University of Oklahoma, and University of Tennessee. However, the Aggies are the only school whose doll is Ken. The other three are Barbies and are decked out in female cheerleading outfits.

Each doll for each school comes in both Caucasian and African American versions.

You can get yours for the thrifty price of $24.95.
