Video: Lightning strikes St. Louis arch during Cardinals rain delay

On Thursday, the Royals and Cardinals were forced to sit through a lengthy delay as rain swept through the St. Louis area.

In fact, the game was delayed on two different occasions totaling 5 hours and 32 minutes, according to the box score.

At one point, the television broadcast crew for the Royals caught an amazing spectacle on camera, as they were able to capture lightning striking the Gateway Arch, which stands tall in the skyline beyond the corridors of Busch Stadium. Check it out for yourself in the video above.

Kansas City eventually wound up winning the game, 4-2, after plating three runs in the top of the ninth.
