There wasn't a lot to smile about for the Kansas City Royals this weekend. Namely, they were swept by the Los Angeles Angeles in their home park in a four-game series.
However, this play by Royals catcher George Kottaras served as some comic relief in the midst of an otherwise disappointing weekend.
The play came in the top of the fourth inning when Kottaras tried to stop himself from throwing out a potential base stealer at second base. But he ends up spiking the ball into the ground during his follow through, instead.
The baseball rolls harmlessly toward toward shortstop as Kottaras stands behind the plate in humble fashion.
Don't look now but the Halos have now won eighth straight games.
