Video: Brett Gardner leaps, robs home run

New York Mets second basemen Daniel Murphy got robbed Monday night.

The robbery came in the bottom of the sixth inning when he lifted a fly ball deep to center field. The ball kept drifting, and at one point, appeared as if it would clear the wall.

However, New York Yankees center fielder Brett Gardner had other ideas. Watch as Gardner times his leap perfectly, extends his arm as far as possible, and brings back a potential home run.

Gardner's nice grab preserved a one-run lead for the Yankees at the time. However, Murphy and the Mets eventually plated two runs to score a win in the annual Subway Series.
