The Houston Astros continue to set a new standard for futility.  However, this time it has nothing to do with its players, but everything to do with one of its stadium vendors.

On Monday, the video you see above was shot during the Royals-Astros game by a fan, who became concerned when seeing a snow cone vendor carry his tray into a Minute Maid restroom stall. You can probably put the clues together as to what he was doing while taking a break on the clock.

Said the unnamed fan who turned in the vendor: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. This guy is taking a dump. There’s no doubt about it. What sane person could possibly think, yeah this is a good idea. I’ll just put the food that I’m about to sell on the floor.”

ARAMARK, the company who runs concession operations for the Astros, fired the man immediately upon learning of the incident. And they provided the following statement on the matter, as well:

“The Astros share ARAMARK’s view on the importance of food safety and will work with them to ensure that our fans have a safe and outstanding experience at Minute Maid Park. We also commend the fan for his vigilance in pointing out the inappropriate actions of the vendor. The Astros personally thanked him and advised him of the swift action taken in regard to the employee.”

So, there you go.

If you ever thought twice about attending an Astros game because of what you were afraid to see on the field, perhaps you have another reason to fear weary.
