Well, San Diego Padres center fielder Alexi Amarista made one entertaining catch Saturday.
The play came in the bottom of the sixth when Amarisata took a less-than-stellar route to flag down a flyball. The dazed and confused youngster got all the way to the warning track before realizing he had severly misjudged the baseball. At that point, he quickly repositions himself and makes a deseperate dive to make an outrageous catch.
It can't really be labeled as a great catch, because it's not, but it can't be labeled as a bad one, either. So, we will tab it as an exciting and entertaining for good measure.
It should be noted that Amarista had to contend with the not-so-friendly dome of Tropicana Field, which has wreaked havoc on many outfielders before him.
