The country's top college basketball prospect for the Class of 2013 has cast his lot with Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks.
Huntington Prep (Huntington, W.V.) guard Andrew Wiggins, who is regarded as the best prep player since LeBron James, made it official by signing his letter of intent Tuesday afternoon during a small ceremony at his school.
Wiggins, a 6-8 forward who averaged 23.4 points and 11.2 rebounds this past season, avoided as best he could the attention his recruitment drew, giving few clues to his choice. Naturally, Wiggins made the announcement in front of friends, classmates, family and just one local reporter at a little after noon Tuesday.
He chose Kansas over Kentucky, Florida State, and North Carolina.
