Philadelphia 76ers guard Nick Young is facing a lawsuit for allegedly giving a woman a date rape drug and sexually assaulting her in 2011. The woman is suing Young for sexual assault, sexual battery, and false imprisonment
The woman filed the suit anonymously under the name Jane Doe and alleges that she and a friend met Young at a bar in West Hollywood. It was there that Young bought her and her friend a drink.
More on the story from TMZ:
According to the suit, the woman’s recollection of the evening ceased shortly after she downed the drink … and she believes it’s because Young had slipped the date rape drug gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) into it.
According to the suit, the woman demanded to be taken home by Young — he obliged — and she beelined for the UCLA Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center, where she took a rape kit and was tested for STDs. She claims a test at the center confirmed she had been drugged, and determined the injuries to her vagina and rectum were consistent with rape.
The woman said that Young admitted to having sex with her the night before, but he claimed he stopped once she passed out.
Aside from Young, the woman is also suing the bar for negligence.
Young, in his 5th NBA season, averaged 10.6 points in 59 games with the Sixers in 2012-13. The 27-year-old played his college career at USC and was drafted 16th overall in the 2007 draft by the Washington Wizards.
