Photo: Buzz Aldrin on hand for Dodgers game

On Monday, former NASA astronaut Buzz Aldrin was in attendance at Dodger Stadium to watch the Dodgers and Angels partake in a crosstown Memorial Day clash.

In case you didn't pay attention in history class, Aldrin is most notably known for being the second man to ever walk on the moon. The Air Force veteran set foot on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. He also threw out the ceremonial first pitch Monday night.

"Memorial Day is very important to me, because I'm a military person," Aldrin said. "I had some very close friends who were POWs. I think veterans should be very proud."
